The Union Sports Ministry said that they will start a thorough review of India’s dismal show at the recently concluded Rio Olympic Games where India managed just two medals through PV Sindhu’s silver medal and Sakshi Malik’s bronze. After a six-medal show in the previous edition at London, the government expected the medal tally to be doubled this time in Rio. But India displayed a dismal show by winning just two. The much hyped archers and shooters returned empty handed while Sindhu and Sakhi saved the nation’s pride. After the return, Sports Minster Vijay Goel said that the ministry will analyse the reasons and take necessary actions in regard of this event.
