Having become the first ever Indian to win an Olympic gold medallist, Abhinav Bindra has been standing there all alone for quite some time now. Now he is out to make future champions for the country as he has set up a first-of-its-kind High Peroformance Training centre in Mohali for the elite athletes with cutting edge equipment.
The centre in Mohali was inaugurated on Saturday by SAI director general Injeti Srinivas and a 12-member team of SAI experts from different centres of the country. The centre provides the athletes to train free of cost after booking the slots. It is also allow the athletes to assess as well as train. The each of the high performance equipment in the centre is fitted with 3D cameras, motion sensors and digital screens and in each of them an athlete can check 3D imaging of his own body and his/her body equilibrium and other functional aspects in real time.
