Filling Capping Labeling Series
Filling capping labeling series is a fully automatic system that integrates the functions of filling, capping and labeling into a smooth flow production line. It consists of an automated bottle unscrambler, automatic filling machine, automatic auger capping machine and self-adhesive labeling machine. It is controlled by PLC and a motorized arrangement.
Cap Placement
The capping process is often the last step of liquid packaging, but it’s also one of the most labor-intensive. Manual capping techniques are costly and may present serious health hazards, but automated machines increase output by allowing for more containers to be capped per minute than is possible with human handling.
Caps come in a wide variety of shapes, sizes, and materials, and each requires a different method to fasten. Depending on your product and production needs, you can select from several different capping equipment categories including manual, semi-automatic, and fully automatic. Manual capping systems require an operator to handle most controls, while semi-automatic models assist with positioning and capping. Fully automatic units have no human involvement in supplying packaging components and operate at high speeds.
For a quick and simple capping machine setup, you can choose to buy an all-in-one solution from SP’s line of i-Dositecno aseptic filling equipment. These complete capping and labeling systems include rinsers, sorters, feeders, cappers, sealers, and tighteners. They offer the dependable sterility and accuracy needed for pharmaceutical production and meet GMP and FDA regulations.
For more advanced production, you can add a vertical cap picker and placer to your capping system. This allows the capping turret to choose and vertically position caps on bottles, boosting production and making the entire machine more efficient.
Cap Turning
The rotary capping machine turns the plastic or metal screw caps on the bottles or jars that come from the filling machines. The machine may be equipped with different cap feeders and capping heads per the customers’ production demand. Caps might be supplied by a vibrated tray or from the bottle conveyor. The machine also has an adjustable nozzle for placing the cap on the bottle neck to ensure that it is properly closed.
The capping machine uses an imported PLC control system, frequency conversion, and is easy to operate. Most of the electrical and pneumatic parts are from world-famous brands such as Japan Mitsubishi, France Schneider, etc. It is designed for various shape bottles and cap & screwing styles, like round, flat square, and alien bottle single or double labeling, widely used in cosmetic, daily chemical, pesticide industries.
The servo motor controls the nozzle to place the Filling capping labeling series cap on the bottle and rotates the turret to close the cap on the container. The bottle is then transferred to the next machine for labeling.
Label Placement
Once a bottle is filled, it moves down the conveyor and is positioned in front of a capping robot that inserts a cap with a tip that resembles that of an eyedropper. The cap is then turned by the robot to join it with the neck threads and tighten the caps to a specified torque. The operator uses the highly graphic machine touchscreen to select the correct torque value, which is displayed in real time.
Then the bottles move to a labeling station that places labels on them before sending them to be capped and then to the next machine in the production line. The labels are made of plexiglass and include the series, manufacturer, product and expiration dates. They can be printed on a paper sheet or on pre-printed, pressure-sensitive labels that are adhered to the containers.
Labels can also have a font color control, which is used to maximize contrast between the label’s background and the font color. When you change the font color for a label, think-cell stops automatically updating that label’s text field. To reset the label to its default, click the exclamation mark that appears next to it.
A similar labeling process is used to mark test tubes with the necessary information for reagent-based testing at hospitals and other labs. Dako, an Agilent Technologies company, makes reagents for the medical industry as well as antibodies, instruments and other products that enable physicians to make better decisions on patient treatment plans.
Label Dispensing
During the capping process, the bottle reaches the cap turning station which is a motorized arrangement that is Filling capping labeling series responsible for spinning and tightening caps on bottles. After this, the assembly pushes over to a labeling next machine which is horizontally positioned so that labels can be dispensed.
The dispense table is fabricated out of 6061-T6 Aluminum with a hand milled peel edge to ensure that your labels can be pulled up and off the backing paper without tearing the papers backing. It is also polished using a high-grade polishing compound that makes it easy for the labels to slide on and off of the dispense plate. The machine uses dual shaded pole gear motors made in the USA to our specifications.
Using a high-level interfaced control system, the labeling machine can automatically shutdown when it detects problems, such as jamming or out-of-reel labels. It can then re-start when the problem has been cleared.
The labeling machine is compatible with most types of caps and can be easily adapted to other cap shapes. The servo-driven capping mechanism is designed for precision and speed, with feedback sensing to ensure that each cap is applied with the same amount of torque. The microcomputer controlled system is flexible for label dispensing selection and can be set up to be single or dual, or even a single-side dispensing option.
