Windfall for wrestler Sakshi

After winning the historic bronze medal in the ongoing Olympics, Haryanvi wrestler Sakshi Malik is set to rake in moolah on her return to the country. After ending the India’s long wait for the first medal in Rio Games, the different institutions back in the country showered their praises by announcing cash awards for the new star of Indian wrestling. On a whole, she is set to receive a total of 3.5 crore and a job promotion. The bronze meal is sure to make her richer by 2.5 crore as the Haryana government has announced the reward while her employer Railways promised a sum of Rs 50 lakh cash award. They also declared that she will be promoted to a rank of gazetted officer. The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has declared a cash reward of Rs 20 lakh while Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports cash award policy set to give her Rs 30 lakh. The International Fitness Festival will give her Rs 5 lakh while the UP government announced they will honour her with Rani Laxmi Bai award which carries a prize tag of 3.11 lakh. On top of it, she is set to be nominated for Khel Ratna as her medal-winning performances is enough to get her the award according to the sports policy.
