Vinesh escapes fracture; needs two weeks for recovery

While the country is celebrating the news of Sakshi Malik winning the country’s first medal, there is also a good news from wrestling arena as Vinesh Phogat, who sustained an injury during her quarterfinal bout against Chinese wrestler Sun Yanan. The Indian wrestler sustained a serious injury but the doctors said that she did not suffer a fracture but only a ligament tear. She requires two weeks to recover from injury and till then she need to use clutches. The team doctor said that she will require a period of six months to start wrestling after seeing the MRI scans. A brace has been put on her leg. She will be examined after two weeks and then advise given on future course of treatment.
