Test venues for home series against Oz

In a bid to popularize the Test cricket by taking the game to smaller venues, the Indian cricket board chose two new venues to host two of the four Test matches they will play next year against Australia. The first Test will be played in Pune next day after Australia teams arrival after playing a T20 series in Sri Lanka.

Pune, Ranchi and Dharamsala will be hosting the Test matches for the first time. The teams will open their Border-Gavaskar Trophy with the first Test in Pune from February 23. They Bengaluru will host the second Test from March 4 to 8. From there, the new venues Ranchi and Dharamsala will host third and fourth Tests from March 16-20 and March 25-29 respectively. The last time they visited India, they were whitewashed 4-0 by India.
