The former World No.1 Serena Williams, who lost her top ranking to Germany’s Angelique Kerber, is set to lose more WTA ranking points as she withdrew from the year end’s WTA Tour Finals scheduled to be played in Singapore.
The current World No.2 Serena, who is suffering from shoulder injury, said that she is still battling the injury and not yet fully recovered forcing her to opt out of the mega event. Serena had played only eight tournaments in the entire year and lost the World No.1 Ranking. She won just one Grand Slam – Wimbledon. Though she reached finals of Australian Open and French Open, she did not manage to win the trophy. Apart from one Grand Slam, she one just one WTA tour title. She lose in the third round of Olympics.
