India down Pakistan…

India overcame a stiff challenge from arch-rivals Pakistan to cruise to victory with 3-2 scoreline in the Asian Champions Trophy hockey tournament on Sunday. Though Indians were 2-1 down at one stage, they bounced back in style with two back to back goals in two minutes to wrest the control in the third quarter. From there on, they held to their lead and went on to win the match. It was India who took the lead with a goal in the 11th minute through Pradeep Mor.

This was his first goal in his 13 international matches. But Pakistan thentook the charge through goals from Mumammad Rizwan Senior in the 31st minute and then Muhammad Irfan junior in the 39th minute. Rupinder Pal Singh converted India’s only penalty corner in the 43rd over and Ramandeep Singh scored the third goal in the next minute to put India in lead.
