Indian limited over skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni has added another feather in his cap. He now became the only fifth Indian and overall third wicket keeper to join the club of 9,000 ODI runs. The winning captain of inaugural edition of 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 ODI World Cup achieved the landmark during India’s third ODI match they won by seven wickets with the help of his 80-run knock and an unbeaten 154 runs by Virat Kohli.
Sachin leads the highest runs tally with a staggering 18426 runs followed by Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid and Mohammad Azharuddin. Overall, Dhoni is the 17th player to achieve the milestone. Dhoni is also the third wicketkeeper to achieve the feat after Kumar Sangakkara and Adam Gilchrist. However, Dhoni is the fasted among the wicketkeeper to reach the 9000-figure. He also is the captain with most sixes in ODI history with 195 sixes.
