Motivated by the success of India’s medal winning Olympic boxer Vijender Singh in the pro boxing circuit, former Indian boxers Akhil Kumar and Jitender Kumar are set to make a comeback by turning pro boxers.
The two boxers are in talks with the Infinity Optimal Solutions who are the promoters of the reigning WBO Asia Pacific champion Vijender. The two boxers are waiting for a no objection certificate from their employers Haryana Police. If all goes according to the plan, Akhil and Jitender will make a debut alongside Vijender’s fight that is being planned in next two months in India. Vijender was unbeaten in the professional career so far with seven victories that include the WBO Asia Pacific title. Akhil, who won the Commonwealth Games bantamweight gold medal, is looking the join the likes of Vijender.
